Spooky Front Yard Decor

Decorate your door. This is the first step in any trick-or-treating preparation session. Put a skeleton or ghost and don’t hold back–The spookier the better. Remember to throw in a few jack-o-lanterns and carve a pumpkin if your feeling extra creative. Note: If you do decide to go with a lit pumpkin, make sure it’s placed well away from areas that trick-or-treaters will be walking through.

Enhance your lighting. The front yard is where all the traffic will come during Halloween. Make a clear pathway so children won’t trip and fall. If your front door lacks lighting, consider adding some lanterns along the path of your walkway or driveway. Keep the lighting edged.

Purchase plenty of candy. Nothing crushes a child’s spirits like knocking on a door that ran out of candy. To keep up the youthful spirits in your neighborhood remember to purchase a lot of candy. Consider buying in bulk at your nearby Costco or BJ’s!

Wear a costume. (Optional) Keep up the Halloween Spirit by dressing up while kids knock on your door! Children love seeing adults in funny/spooky costumes. Be creative!
